Mary Brunner. Mary was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and was well known for her love of cookies. Mary was an avid sports fan, and she especially enjoyed the Chicago Bulls and Notre Dame football. Mary had many longtime friends from nursing school and the army who she kept in contact with for many years.

Survived by her children Joan (Ronald) Fack and Charles Brunner. grandchildren: Andrew Brunner, Carrie (Adam) McCurdy and Kristin Fack as well as several nieces and nephews and her devoted caregiver, Eva Morrison
Mary graduated from nursing school (Grant Hospital in Chicago), and then went on to serve in World War ll as 1’t Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurses Corp. in New Guinea. After the war she worked in the Veterans Administration Hospitals in San Francisco and Denver, and also earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Mary returned to her nursing career in the early nineteen seventies, working at Graceland Nursing Home and Lee Manor in Des Plaines. She began working at Nazarethville Nursing Home as a registered nurse in 1976. After her retirement from Nazarethville, she continued to work there as a volunteer.
